The Societe Faienciere Heraldique de Pierrefonds pottery studio was founded in the village of Pierrefonds, France in 1903 by Count Hallez d’Arros and is renowned for it’s crystalline and flambe glazes. It ceased production in 1986.
The Pierrefonds sandstones bear under the hollow base the first mark of the manufacture representing a helmeted knight's head between the letters F and H which take up the initials of its company name "La Faïence Héraldique"
